The Association paid tribute to the Honourable William G. Davis, P.C.,C.C.,Q.C.,former Premier of Ontario. He was presented with a polar bear sculpture by Canadian artist Sanduluk and a plaque with the following inscription:
“IN RECOGNITION OF YOUR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE AND PROVINCE OF ONTARIO, ESPECIALLY AS THE PREMIER FOR FIFTEEN YEARS, WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE NEEDS AND ASPIRATIONS OF THE PEOPLE, AND ALSO FOR THE MAJOR ROLE YOU PLAYED IN THE PATRIATION OF THE CONSTITUTION AND THE ENTRENCHMENT OF THE CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, THE MOST SACRED DOCUMENT OF OUR LAND”.
The Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario, was the Guest of Honour. He was presented with a porcelain replica of the “Trillium” – Ontario ’s flower. Mrs. McGuinty and Mrs. Cathy Davis, who graced this occasion with their presence, were presented with beautiful bouquets of flowers.
The citation was done by Honourable Roy McMurtry, Chief Justice of Ontario.
